Algerian national squad to play Gabon as warm- up pending Tanzania

Today’s friendly match opposing the Algerian national squad to the Gabonese side at 5th July Olympic stadium in upper Algiers, will be a genuine opportunity for the head coach Rabah Saadane to gauge the players’ readiness ahead of the official match against Tanzania as part of the 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.

• Rabah Saadane is due to try a large number of players during this match in a move to get a broader idea about their physical and technical aptitudes pending the upcoming official fixture and pick up the fittest among them.

• The Greens’ task will not be a sinecure on account of the strength of the opponent and the absence of several Algerian key players like Antar Yahia , Rafik Halliche and the regular goalkeeper Rais M’bolhi who has lost his mother recently.

• The head coach will seize this opportunity to give a chance to players who didn’t play to the Algerian squad before like Carl Medjani, who is due to start the match, because of the absence of several players in the defence line and also Guedioura who will replace Mahdi Lacen in the midfield.
