Algerian Paramedics plan a sit-in on April 27
General Assembly of the National Union for Paramedics agreed on Saturday unanimously to initiate a protest movement through a series of sit-ins in front of the presidency starting from next April 27 at 11 am.
Six delegates from various cities are expected to participate in the sit-ins. They attended the General Assembly of the Union for Paramedics in Mostapha Pacha Hospital in Algiers, and concluded discussions with the option of organizing a sit-in after the presentation of a “negative” report about the situation of their sector, due to what the union describes as “deception” caused by the basic laws, especially the promotion and the compensation system which is still frozen at the level of public service.
The Assembly asks government to grant better salaries for all workers in this sector, in order to stop their migration from Algeria.
General Assembly raised the question of training for paramedics, as delegates suggested the refusal to integrate the new LMD system graduated in the training, in order to put pressure on the Ministry of High Education and Scientific Research.
