Algerian player Djamel Mesbah to Echorok: Belhadj is free to decide for his future

After only three weeks of rest, the Algerian international Djamel Mesbah has yesterday resumed his preparation for the upcoming season with his Italian club Lecce.

•  His relatively short vacation if compared to his teammates is due to his participation with the Algerian national team to the latest world cup in South Africa.

• The club’s coach Luigi Di Caneo has called up the players last Thursday to start the preseason preparations including Mesbah” I went a short vacation along with my family, and came back to the preparations with my club after three weeks rest”.

• The player denied that allegations that he has received offers from Juventus and Fiorentina “ I didn’t receive any offers from the clubs mentioned in some media like Juventus and Fiorentina or other clubs outside Italy, but the club’s managers insisted on keeping me for another season considering this period as very sensitive since it’s the first year at the first league for Lecce; it’s natural to think of remaining at this level for a fresh club in the first league”.

• As to the decision taken by Nadir Belhadj to move to the Qatari club “ Essad” despite the various offers he received from West Ham United and Lazio Rome, Mesbah has declared” Belhadj is free to decide to move to Qatar and nobody has the right to criticize or comment his choice, he has a working strategy and is able to improve his performances. The national coach is the sole and only person illegible to decide who is fit to play as a regular or substitute and I respect his choices”.
