Algerian request to listen to former officers in the French intelligence

French Foreign Ministry confirmed the reception of a request from the Algerian justice to listen to former officers in the French intelligence – Directorate of External Security specifically – in the framework of the investigation in the Tibhirine Monks assassination, while Paris demanded the need to set a date for the French judge visit in the fight against terrorism Marc Tréividic, who in in charge of investigating in the case.

Official spokesman of the French Foreign Ministry, Romain Nadal, explained  in a press briefing for the French Foreign Ministry on Mondayin Paris, in response to a question that is related to the request of the Algerian justice to listen to former officers in the French intelligencein the framework of the investigation into the murder of Tibhirine monks; “There is a judicial cooperation agreement between Algeria andFrance, in this perspective there is a consideration of the demand.”

According to the leaks, the Algerian justice wants to hear two important figures in the file, who are Pierre Ledoiré head of the French intelligence branch in Algeria, 1994 -1996 – and Jean-Charles Marciani, former officer in the same service, and the former governor of Varre province.” 

Previously, Trévidic listened to Markiani in March 2012, as he negotiated with the terrorist group “GIA“, which adopted the kidnapping ofTibhirine monks and killing them, and marciani confirmed in the investigation, that the President Jacques Chirac is the one who asked himto negotiate a ransom, but then Prime Minister Allain Juppé, who was not informed about it, decided to put an end to negotiations, signing“the death certificate of the monks“, as reported by the newspaper Le Parisien earlier.
