Algerian victims to create an Association in a bid to ask compensations from Moroccan authorities

A group of Algerian citizens are starting procedures to create an association in a bid to claim their rights for compensations over the lands and real estates they left behind in Morocco.

  • Some of the association members have indicated that they will send a formal application to the local authorities in the province of Telemcen, western Algeria, as well as the interior ministry to get the permit from the Algerian authorities to start their activities.
  •
  •  The association aims at bringing together some 14 thousand Algerians who were spoiled by the totalitarian Moroccan regime from their properties. Reliable sources reveal that these properties comprise houses, commercial premises and farmlands.
  •
  •  The victims’ move comes after years of silence, but the latest endorsement of the Algerian authorities to their legitimate demands in the wake of the visit of the Algerian minister in charge of the Algerian community abroad, Halim Ataa Allah last August to Morocco, has rekindled their hopes especially that their French counterparts  were compensated by the Moroccan authorities.
  •
  • Meanwhile, a number of Algerian nationals living in the tiny villages of Bousaid and Oueld Mellouk in the locality of Meghnia, have officially called on the Algerian authorities to insert their problems in their negotiations with Morocco, knowing that this country’s authorities intent to realign the historical borders between the two countries.
