Talking on the sidelines of the 1st session of the Federation of the Retired Workers Executive Committee held here in Algiers, the Secretary General has retreated his attachment for the country’s stability “ I don’t believe in a union’s combat that tears apart the country, and I’m ready to step down to preserve the country’s unity”, he said.

Replying to Echourouk’s question concerning some trade unionists who recently surfaced after 10 years of absence in a bid to get back on the track, this later said” I’m only concerned about the workers’ problems and have nothing to add”.

On the other hand, Echourouk has received a copy of a notification sent by the Union’s central department to the different regional branches across the country comprising a “disciplinary instruction” summoning them to respect the democratic process within these branches and value the trade union’s combat.
