Over 40 Algerian passengers, who were returning through Air Algérie flight from the Spanish Alicante to Algiers and Oran in April 3, were surprised when employees in charge of the Office of “Global Exchange” for free fees, refused to compensate the fees of their luggage at the airport level, with Euro currency, which is hard currency that is adopted in the region.

These Algerians have received their dues in Algerian dinars, which made them wonder about the mystery of this illegal conduct, and demanded an inquiry into the file and investigation on how the dinar reached to Alicante.

Algeria owner of a private company, Hamaimi Bouzid, said when he returned from Alicante he filled complaint against the fees office at the level of the Spanish Consumer Protection Association.

“I also decided to file a lawsuit at the Spanish court and another at the level of the Algerian court, accusing this company to prevent Algerians to benefit from the right in free fees compensation at the airport level, like the rest of other peoples, and giving cash in Algerian dinars, or dividing the compensation sum into two parts, a part that is delivered in the dinar and another part in Euros, rejecting all arguments of Algerians who were prevented from obtaining the compensation with the European currency.”

“Some Algerians who returned on April 3 from Alicante confirmed that it is not the first time that they face this treatment by the Office of the Global Exchange, as the concerned authorities refused to provide them with compensation in Euros, while it compensated others in hard currency, and this is an infringement of the dignity of the Algerian, and his contempt for no apparent reason”.
