Algeria’s imports reach $27 billion

Algeria’s commercial deficit decreased in January-July this year to $6.17 billion compared to $10.61 billion in 2016, Customs said on Monday.
Exports considerably increased to $20.71 billion in January-July this year compared to $16.55 billion in 2016.
According to the same source, imports went down to $26.87 billion this year compared to $27.16 billion in 2016. Hydrocarbons represented the majority of Algeria’s sales abroad with 94.71 percent.
Exports out of hydrocarbons constituted 5.29 percent.
Speaking about imports, Customs Computer and Statistics National Centre said imported food increased by 10.13 percent to $5.17 billion this year compared to $4.7 billion.
