Ali Haddad: “Algeria’s projected borrowing is destined to build factories and not to eat and drink”
From the south-western province of Bechar, the chairman of the Business Leaders’ Forum (FCE) paid tribute to the National People’s Army (ANP) and all security forces, arguing that “there can be no sustainable development without security and stability. “
Ali Haddad, in his meeting with the business leaders of the region, organized at the Tahri-Mohamed University on the occasion of the opening of the FCE’s representative office in the province, stressed that Bechar holds strong potentialities that need to be soundly exploited on the economic, tourist, cultural and agricultural plans.
Speaking in the presence of the Wali or Governor of Bechar on Wednesday, Mr. Ali Haddad said that in the face the current dire economic situation besetting the country owing to the severe drrop in oil prices, the mobilization and contribution of entrepreneurs is more than ever recommended.
The standing challenge now, he said, is to “win the battle for development,” which cannot be carried out, from his point of view, without the speedy diversification of the national economy.
Business leaders are, he said very keen to work out “a strategy and an economic scheme which must be consistent with the specificity of each region of the country.”
Mr Ali Haddad argued that “economic development cannot be achieved without local development and without promoting the thriving local business.” Ali Haddad stated that “the national enterprises will be the driving force of the country’s economic enhancement and its salutary diversification.”
“The productive enterprise, he added, should have a prominent place in the government’s economic policy.”
“The FCE is committed to strengthening the industrial base through the creation of new businesses across the country in various fields of endeavour notably by allowing fresh private investments in the aeronautics, hydrocarbons, tourism and infrastructure sectors”, Ali Haddad noted.
“The FCE is and always be a partner with the public authorities. We’ll mobilize all our active forces for the smooth implementation of the government’s new economic approach, “he said.
He also asserted that “at the FCE we believe in the governmental economic approach and we are working for a salutary change. And to achieve this, we must persevere in the work, to allow Algeria to embark upon a new era of sustainable development and prosperity. “
