Angry Resident Doctors close Health Ministry’s doors
Algiers-Resident doctors closed the main gate of the headquarters of Health Ministry here on Tuesday, renewing their commitment to their principle demand which is cancelation of the civil service mandatory and announcing their solidarity with their colleagues recently graduated from Medicine Institutes.
The Independent Bloc of Resident Doctors decide to launch a series of sit-ins out of the presidency headquarters, as well as regional marches next week, promising a collective resignation through organizing polls in various hospitals.
“Resident Doctor’s sit-in out of the Health Ministry’s headquarters for two objectives, the first is to inform government that they insist of getting their main demand, continue the open strike and escalate the protest movement to correct the erroneous image provided by the Ministry of Health for the public opinion during his appearance on the national television, saying that doctors are obliged to perform their civil service for one to four years”, spokesman to the independent bloc, Sid Ali Marwan said.
“Second goal is the solidarity with our colleagues newly graduate and who were surprised with the change of mechanisms for selecting jobs in health institutions. Previously the selection transparent, however; the new method adopted by the ministry contains ambiguity”, he added.
