Arab parliamentarians paid a symbolic visit to Gaza

A group of Arab parliamentary delegation has yesterday Monday paid a visit to Gaza through Rahaf passage as part of solidarity gesture to the population that underwent the atrocities of the Israeli strikes more than a year ago, leaving thousands of dead and injured.

  • The 22 members of three parliament including 02 Algerians will spend three days there.

  • This is the first visit of its kind to the besieged territories that crowns efforts deployed by Arab and European lawyers and parliamentarians to break the siege imposed by Israeli and Egyptian authorities on a million and half Palestinians.

  • In a telephone conversation with the two Algerian parliamentarians from Rafah passage on the borders with Egypt, they have revealed to Echourok that the entry procedures running smoothly, as the Egyptian authorities have paved the way for the Arab parliamentarians to facilitate the task for them.

  • The members of parliament are due to confer with former PM of the dismissed government Ismail Henia and his cabinet. The delegation will also meet the groups of civilians as part of their mission to asses the damage left by the Israeli attacks on this population.

  • The delegation is represented by most of the Arab countries including Syria and Egypt, that sent a retired MP, while Tunisia, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain were counted among the missing.
