Armed forces evacuate hundreds of Algerian families in the Libyan border

Algeria is heading toward taking a temporary decision of prohibiting the air traffic towards Libya, especially after the army announced the high alert along the borders through closing them completely, while members of the armed troops and border guards evacuated many Algerians, including traders and families residing in Libya.
Army commanders acknowledged in coordination with the 4th military region in Ouergla (southern Algeria), the establishment of a central cell that is working on coordination between 67 military joint units.
General Manager of the company for conducting the structures and services of Houari Boumediene Airport, Mr. Taher Alache, told Echorouk that the deteriorating security situation in Libya and with the increasing fears of the spread of bloody clashes to the city of Tripoli, which is currently covering flights of Air Algérie towards it twice- weekly on Saturday and Tuesday, from Houari Boumediene international airport, will be canceled.
“This preventive measure would ensure the safety of passengers who are heading towards Libya in such dangerous conditions, which is the same action that was taken by the Tunisian airlines, which canceled its flights that were programmed to the Libyan city of Benghazi, as a result of the decision that was taken by the Libyan authorities about the closure of Benghazi airport for two additional days. As the Egyptian Civil Aviation decided to take the same step.”
Army units and border guards evacuated many Algerians, including the families that reside in Libya, along with a number of traders who went there, as many families who lived on the outskirts of the Libyan capital Tripoli, called for the intervention of Algeria Foreign Ministry for their evacuation from Libya, because of the dangerous security situation that prevails in the region.
