Arms Deals, OPEC's Future To Be Discussed By Ouyahia, Medvedev

Russian Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev, will visit Algeria on October 9, carrying economic and military files that are related to arms deals, which will be discussed during a two-day visit.

He will meet his counterpart, Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia and will also be accompanied by a delegation of businessmen to discuss the partnership files between the two countries, as Eight agreements are expected to be signed between the two countries.

Businessmen from Algeria and Russia will meet to enable companies in both countries to identify areas of industrial partnership and study the possibilities of holding projects in various fields, especially in the sectors of the cars industry, construction machinery, shipbuilding, helicopter industry, energy industries, electro technology, industrial security, Chemical industries, oil and gas infrastructure, security and communication systems and agriculture.

Earlier, Algerian and Russian officials expressed their readiness to continue working together to put pressure on competitors, and to pay oil and gas prices during the next phase, on the sidelines of the Algerian-Russian partnership committee that is held in Algeria, in addition to the conclusion of new deals for the sale of plains.

“The two countries’ governments contributed to the stability of oil prices within the framework of cooperation between the OPEC producer countries and non-OPEC members”, Novak said, adding that Russia and Algeria contributed to the stability of oil prices in the world markets.

In addition, Novak said that in the field of energy cooperation, “Algeria and Russia, members of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, have common positions within this organization on the key issues”.
