Assassination attempt against Palestinian ambassador to Algiers

Three men tried to kill the Palestinian ambassador to Algiers on Monday. They wounded him using knives and run away said the embassy in a press release.

• “What happened on Monday at the embassy is an attempt to kill and attack the ambassador and the embassy’s staff by three armed people.”

• The men carried knives and sticks and entered the ambassador’s office. A quarrel took place and Ambassador Husein Abdelkhalek was wounded while the men run away.

• The embassy described the attack as a cruel crime and “separated from our national and moral practices.”

• It said it lodged a complaint at the Palestinian Liberation Organisation and Algerian legal authorities to launch sanctions against the men.
