The boats could leave the port as the weather got better. Tassili 2 which carried 300 passengers was supposed to leave the port on Thursday heading for the province of Bejaia (east of Algiers)

Tarek Ibn Zyad boat which carried 800 passengers heading for Algiers was supposed to leave the Port of Marseille on Saturday.

An official at the port said the passengers were sheltered and given food on the boats. A total of 20 passengers out of 1,100 cancelled their trips until the weather gets better.

European countries are witnessing bad weather with snow. That caused big disruptions in the movement of passengers especially in air trips. Several trips were cancelled and many airports were closed.
