Ban on cars' import to be lifted as from Thursday

Government will lift the ban on cars’ import from abroad, as from Thursday, and proceed with the granting of licenses at the Commerce Ministry, which included a quota that is equivalent to 152.000 vehicles, that is equal to half the number of imported cars during 2015, and that after the suspension of settlement banks process for more than a week, as the process of granting licenses will continue until the next February 3.

Permanent committee in charge of granting the licences of importing cars, cement and round concrete steel identified the date for 2016, and estimated the import cars servings at 152,000 units for 2016, compared to approximately 300,000 units that were imported in 2015, 439,000 and 637,000 units in 2014.
These shares concern the vehicles with the engine to transport 10 or more people with the driver, tourist cars and other cars that are specifically used for the transfer of individuals, racing cars, and cars with the engine to transport goods.
With regard to the importing Gray Portland Cement, it has identified quantities at 5.1 million tonnes and identified amounts of importing round concrete steel that contained deformations that are produced during the laminating cylinder or with a twist after the laminating process at two million tons.
