Banks Professional Association Monday gave an instruction to lift the ban on account domiciliation on all the products excluded from funding.

The Association’s chairman Boualam Djebbar said the instruction involves importing licence-related products and other 36 banned imports.

“Upon instruction from the commerce ministry, all the banks were informed that all the banned imports can be brought now from abroad via domiciliation. Products which were loaded before July 9th are not banned from account domiciliation,” Djebbar told Echorouk.

He added that the procedure aims at ending the crisis of containers and ships full of food, plastic and construction materials. This comes as a number of importers lodged complaints.

Earlier in August, Banks Professional Association gave an instruction to ban account domiciliation for 11 products including finished marble, carpets, soap, organic and plastic products, wood furniture, flour and semolina.

In July, it also banned the importing of nuts and other 24 products.
