Belgian photographer Peter Zangl exhibits in Algiers

ALGIERS- The Belgian photographer Peter Zangl is exhibiting as from Monday evening at the Wallonia-Brussels Delegation (Ben-Aknoun, Algiers) a series of photographs under the theme “From Brussels to Algiers: Our differences…our common wealth.”

“In this series of dozens black and white photographs, I tried to present moments of life of the inhabitants of Brussels of Maghreb origin,” said this artist.

Most of the photographs presented by Peter Zangl, who opted for black and white photography as he considered it as “more artistic and expressive,” were taken in 2008-2009 in the commune of Molenbeek Saint-Jean, and some in Schaerbeek and Saint Gilles.

This exhibition, which was inaugurated in the presence of Wallonia-Brussels Delegate Marie-Henriette Timmermans, is open to public until 4 December.
