Ben Hammam: ” Raouraoua-Zaher reconciliation is close at hand”

According to Qatari media sources, reconciliation between the chairman of the Algerian football federation Mohamed Raouraoua and his Egyptian opposite number Samir Zaher is in the offing at the initiative of Fifa bigwig Mohamed Ben Hammam.

•   Meanwhile, the deputy chairman of the Egyptian Football Federation and executive member of the world football governing body ( FIFA ), Hani Abou Rida, told Echorouk, in a telephone conversation from Cairo that he backed the initiative of reconciliation initiated by the Head of the Asian Football Federation, Qatari Mohamed Ben Hammam, between the heads of EFF, Samer Zaher and AFF, Mohamed Raouraoua, in order to put an end to the stalemate and rancour that have marred the relations between the two countries since the 12th of November 2009,  the date of the blameworthy Egyptian  stoning attacks on the Algerian players’ bus in Cairo ahead of the decisive Egypt-Algeria world cup qualifier.
