Benchikha: “The Greens will strive to win versus Central African Republic in Bangui”

The new national football team coach, Abdelhak Benchikha, has affirmed that the Greens' objective will be to come out victorious versus the squad of the Central African Republic on October 10th in Bangui as part of the qualifiers for the Africa cup of nations competition (CAN) to be jointly hosted in 2012 by Gabon and Guinea Bissau.

  •  As a matter of fact, the Algeria squad have no other alternative but to win.
  •
  • After the dismal and unexpected one-all draw at home last August versus Tanzania, the Greens of Algeria are now compelled to win their second match in order not to forfeit their qualification chances for the 2012 CAN contest.
  •
  • Benchikha said, in this connection, that his players were fully conscious of their forthcoming mission in Bangui stressing that this away fixture should be managed in a positive way with the hope of carrying the day despite the potency of the squad of the Central African Republic.
  •
  • Benchikha also said that the Algerian players were mobilized for the Bangui qualifier adding that they were highly motivated and eager to be up to the mark.
  •
  • The national line-up will be complete on Monday with the arrival here of the rest of the professional players with the exception of goalkeeper Raïs Mbolhi and defender Nadir Belhadj who were due to play a championship match today with their respective clubs of CSKA Sofia and Qatar’s Essad.
  •
  • These two international players will be in Algiers on Tuesday.
  •
  • However, the Greens will witness for the Bangui qualifier the absence owing to injury of Karim Ziani, Karim Matmour, Chedli Amri, Adlène Guedioura and Fouad Kadir.
  •
  • On the positive side, the talented midfielder of Spain’s Real Santander, Mehdi Lacen, will probably take part in the make-or-break Bangui fixture on October 10th.
