Berlusconi's Party: “Annaba-Sardinia illegal migrants’ outlet, an entry for terrorists into Europe”
Several Italian parties, led by the Italian party “Forza Italia” of former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi vowed not to give more than one hour to the Algerian illegal migrants “harraga” arriving on the island of Sardinia to turn them back, arguing this steady migrants’ influx is an outlet for terrorists to enter Europe.
The regional coordinator of the Berlusconi party in the island of Sardinia Ogo Cabelache said that the Algerian “Harraga” would be returned immediately to their home country because they pose a threat to public security by committing in various crimes and indulging in harassment of Italian citizens.
The spokesman said that immediate deportations of Algerian illegal migrants arriving in Sardinia should be initiated very shortly and that they should not be given more than an hour to assemble at the airport and to be sent back to their own country.
Italian parties described the secret immigration hub, Annaba-Sardinia, as being linked to criminal networks and this port was designated as an entry door for terrorists to enter the European continent.
These political groups, including the Unidos conglomerate, said that the terrorist who attacked police agents in the Belgian province of Charleroi in 2016 was named Khaled Babouri, who entered Sardinia via a sea voyage from Annaba in far eastern Algeria.
According to the island authorities, more than 1,400 Algerian illegal migrants “harraga” have arrived since the beginning of this year, while about 1,200 others arrived in 2016, in addition to hundreds of others who were intercepted off the Algerian coast.
For his part, the regional coordinator of Sardinia, Italy’s Foreign Minister, Angelino Alfano, urged Italy to raise its voice in protest against Algeria so as to halt the endless flow of Algerian “harraga” on the island of Sardinia and to deploy the Italian naval forces to protect the island.
