Bouchareb, “very happy” for his film nomination for Oscars

ALGIERS- Algerian director Rachid Bouchareb said he was “very happy” that his film “Outside the Law” is nominated for an Oscar 2011 in the category of best foreign film.

“I am very pleased with this nomination for me and for all the actors, technicians and partners who have supported the film,” Bouchareb said in a statement to the APS from Los Angeles (United States) where his film is selected.

The film “Outside the Law” was nominated Tuesday for an Oscar 2011 in the category of best foreign films, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced.

Bouchareb said “it is already a good achievement to reached different stages of the selection of the Oscars,” stressing that “everything that comes afterwards will be a pleasant surprise and a bonus.”

The various distinctions that the feature film has collected came after a lively debate, notably following its screening at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2010.
