President of the Republic, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, reaffirmed Algeria’s position towards some of the important issues in the Arab world.

President Bouteflika confirmed that this position stems from the historical inheritance of refusing intervention in the countries’  internal affairs, “contrary to what may seem to some parties that Algeria contravene, through its positions, some of its Arab partners.”

In a statement to media, after his meeting with King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud, Tayeb Balaiz, Minister of State, and Special Adviser to the President of the Republic, said that he visited Riyadh conveying a message that was addressed to the Saudi King from the President Bouteflika and which “carried some clarification.”

It said: “It seems to some by fault, that some of Algeria’s on a number of important issues on the Arab world and even the regional, oppose some of its Arab partners. However, Algeria’s positions are due primarily to the historic inheritance since the revolution, of not interfering in the internal affairs of other countries.”

“Algeria’s position is based on its constitutions that prevent the armed forces to go beyond the country’s borders. This does not prevent Algeria from providing very substantial assistance in other fields”.

President Bouteflika explained, on the tongue of his Special adviser, that Algeria is committed to the non-interference in the States and peoples’ internal affairs, and always prefers the peaceful political solutions, and rejects violence, because it believes that it only creates violence.”

“Algeria always work to solve the problems that are raised in the framework of international bodies, similar to the UN, though it seems to some parties by fault that it opposed positions of some Arab nations, and this does not mean at all that this difference affects the essence of the bilateral relationships with them.”

Tayeb Belaiz explained that he transferred the greetings of the President Bouteflika to the Saudi King, and his praising for the quality of the relationships between the two countries, and expressed through his message, his will and determination to upgrade them to higher levels to include all fields, and assured him that he personally cares about these relationships that should remain reserved and impeccable, despite the efforts of some malicious parties, that want in vain to destroy them.

Belaiz told King Abdullah that the President Abdelaziz Bouteflika invites  him to visit Algeria “at the earliest times”, a call which received acceptance of the Saudi king.

Belaiz considers the upcoming visit of King Abdullah to Algeria as an “important opportunity” for the two leaders to address the most important issues that characterize the Arab and regional arenas, and the talks between them will reach “important results that will allow the building of bridges between Arab countries, and creating a good atmosphere, given the wisdom and experience of both of them.”
