Captain of Panama Ship Got Sentenced to Prison Eastern Algeria

Misdemeanour’s Court of the First Instance Court in Annaba (eastern Algeria) sentenced the captain of Panama ship to 6 months in prison and a fine of 50,000 ZDZ.

Panama ship which carries a Chinese nationality damaged Algeria’s internet cable that links it with Europe on October 22, 2015. 

Same court also ordered the lifting of the ban on the arrested ship at the port of Annaba.

Captain of the Chinese ship “Boavosa- Ice” Chinese, De Shan Long, who was accompanied by his first assistant in the ship, said the large part of responsibility should be taken by the maritime direction of the Algerian institution at the port, which did not notified him in advance, when he prepared the procedures of access to the commercial port of Annaba, and did not inform him about the existence of a maritime cable of Internet in the same marine site.
