Cars quota importing postponed till June
The government postponed cars importing operation till June instead of January 2016 as licences are not ready yet, a car dealer said.
Accredited car dealers did not receive any licence to organize cars importing in 2016. They were informed that licences will be delivered in June to determine cars quota. This means there will be no limited quota for Jan-June 2016.
Mohamed Bairi, a member of the National Association of Accredited Car dealers told Echorouk they did not receive any information about authorized imported cars quantity.
“It is likely that the quantity would be less than 400,000 vehicles, according to figures given by the commerce ministry,” he said.
The Official Journal stipulates that cars quota is distributed in accordance with the “first come, first served” principle. Priority will be given to car dealers who are used to import vehicles for years.
