Cheikh Barbara to Echorouk:”Deaths have nothing to do with chaos and neglect”

Number of Algerian pilgrims who died in the holy sites reached 12 pilgrims, most recently an elderly man 80 years old was perished, and four other pilgrims are subject to health control, but their condition is stable, while back flights will continue until November 9.

General Manager of the National Office for Hadj and Omra, Cheikh Barbara told Echorouk, in a phone conversation, that the number of deceased in the holy sites  noticed a decline compared to the previous years, as the total number in this day  of last season reached about 25 deaths, attributing this decline to the consciousness that was shown by pilgrims, as well as the success of awareness campaigns, and also the good performance of the members of the mission, which includes doctors, imams and civil protection agents, as well as guides who accompanied the pilgrims, especially during the performance of rituals.

General Manager of the Office of Pilgrimage said that the conditions of Hadj improved significantly, and the back flights have become nearly free of difficulties, as well as the chaos in previous years, as pilgrims luggage is removed towards the airport every day before the start of the back trip, attributing the deaths that have been recorded among the elderly pilgrims to their old ages, as well as destiny and fate, assuring the families of the pilgrims who are still in hospitals, stressing that their condition is stable, some of them suffer colds and others are subject to follow-up of blood pressure.

“Coordination between the members of the mission was successful during this season by 100%. Algerian pilgrims were largely conscious compared to previous seasons, thanks to following the instructions and advice that were given by the guides, as well as members of the medical mission. The launch of the pilgrimage season this year was accompanied by fears of the spread of the virus of Corona, which affects largely the elderly people, and people with chronic diseases.”
