Chinese Ambassador: “Over 20,000 Visas Are Granted To Algerians Annually”

China consulate in Algeria joined the foreign consulates that are dealing with VFS Global, which is the channel that receives the files of Algerian visa applicants, and the reason is to improve reception and reduce the suffering of Algerians.

Chinese Ambassador, Yan Guangyu, said on Monday, during the inauguration of the new headquarters, that he was suffering a lot as he watched the line of Algerians who came in very early hours to deposit their visa files.

He also announced that the expansion of the embassy building in Algiers Martyrs Street, will make it fashionable and in the level of aspirations of its visitors.

“Number of Algerians who receive a visa to visit China each year is 20.000. We seek to improve the reception of visa applicants’ conditions. The partnership’s decision with VFS Global comes in the context of the desire that is harmonious with the increasing height of the number of Algerians who wish to visit the world’s most populous country”.

For his part, the regional director of VFS Global in Africa explained that this step is very important because it is an opportunity for both Algeria and China to expand cooperation relationships which are stable for many years. 

“Visa applicants from the Chinese consulate are not forced to travel to the Chinese embassy or consulate in Algeria anymore, but can visit the Chinese center that is located in Algiers Ben Aknoun near Al Baraka Bank.
