Club and league presidents plan to boycott championship

A number of club presidents of first and second professional leagues as well as the amateur league plan to boycott championship matches to show solidarity to the president of Football Professional League Mahfoud Kerbadj.

Echorouk has learnt that many club presidents in first and second professional leagues along with some regional and provincial leagues showed dissatisfaction over the president of the Algerian Football Federation Khireddine Zatchi. He is criticized of “provoking” Kerbadj through decisions including the change of the date of the sixth round of the first professional league.

Some club and league presidents showed solidarity with Kerbadj’s league and proposed to boycott a championship round.

According to the same sources, the sixth round of the first professional league may be boycotted, in attempt to stop Zatchi from intervening in the championship calendar.
