Coalition parties seek a tailor-made constitutional amendment, Louiza Hanoune
General-Secretary of Algeria Labor Party, Louiza Hanoune attacked on Friday the presidential coalition parties, accusing them of seeking a tailor-made constitutional amendment, and insisting on refusal of a constituent council.
“I wish the expected constitutional amendment will ensure guarantees for all social classes. I am against the attempt by collation parties to limit the constitutional amendment in some narrow issues. They want a tailor-made amendment before submitting it to popular voting”, she added.
“Algeria lives a real political crisis because the social demands by various categories have a political dimension, which requires the need to change all the laws. If protests would not find a political solution, there will be a leap into the unknown”, she explained.
“LMD system is a result of a series of decisions imposed by the partnership agreement with the European Union. It should be cancelled. Algeria students’ protests are legitimate. I think that LMD system is a preparation for the privatization aiming to complete the agreement of partnership with the EU which causes the loss of 400.000 jobs as recognized by the former Finance Minister”, she asserted.
