Contractual garbage collectors claim their unpaid salaries

The contractual garbage collectors across the country have threatened to stage a protest campaign for not receiving their pending wages since four months despite a meagre salary that doesn’t exceed 9000 Algerian Dinars per month.

• They have yesterday stopped working in various provinces countrywide to protest against the fact of being unfairly exploited because they were contractual workers.

• For its part, the municipalities’ workers Union has dwarfed the importance of the points included in the latest draft law project related to the municipalities’ employees considering the salary increase of 2000 Algerian Dinars per month as insignificant.

• A member of the “SNAPSAT” Union has indicated in a declaration to “Echourok” that thousands of contractual workers, in a sector that counts 300 thousands employees, were not put in order yet though working since 10 years in exchange of salary that doesn’t exceed 9000 Algerian Dinars.
