Cost Of Driving Licence To Reach 50.000 DZD Starting From 2017

Driving schools will rise the price of training to give a driving license, from the beginning of 2017, parallel with requiring schools to apply the new national training program, while the allowed number of candidates will be reduced by about 70% of what was done in the past, in order to ensure the qualitative, theoretical and applied training.

Chairman of the National Federation of Driving Schools, Zineddine Oudia, told Echorouk, that the decision to lift the training price for the granting of the license, will be applied immediately after starting the application of the national training program, that was prepared by the services of the Transport Ministry.

“New measures that are included in the new program will allow the candidate to obtain a license through receiving different training aspects, with obliging schools’ owners to respect the time of theoretical and applied lessons, which are 55 hours, in addition to teaching the candidate the details of the point system in case of offenses and how the deduction of points is made”.

“After the application of the new training program, the current costs will change, on the grounds that the driving school will be forced to reduce the number of candidates, from about 140 candidates monthly, which is the allowed number to pass the theoretical and practical examinations, for the owner of a driving school’s owner who has three or four cars, to about 40 candidates, and he price will be determined by the federation of driving schools that would range between 40.000 to 50.000 DZD”.

On the other hand, the candidates to obtain the driving license, will be subject, within the framework of the national training program, to the theoretical side that covers everything related to vehicles in terms of operation, maintenance, the use of equipment and surveillance , in addition to knowledge of the external factors and circumstances that are surrounding the vehicle, and also how to be a mechanic and a technical observer of the vehicle.

Oudia asserted that the Federation of Driving Schools insisted on the need to implement the new national training program, which would eliminate the business in the granting of driving licenses. The new measures will eliminate the schools that grant licenses of death worth 12.000 and 15.000 DZD.
