Counter-Terrorism: “High state of alert on Algeria’s eastern and south-eastern borders”
Army Corps General, Gaid Saleh, Vice Minister of National Defense and Chief of Staff of the National People’s Army (ANP) has instructed all the Army units across the country and in particular those deployed at the Algerian-Tunisian and Algerian-Libyan borders to take all necessary steps to deal with a potential risk of a possible infiltration by “Daesh” terrorists into Algerian soil.
In this context, security sources told “Echorouk” that the alert is at the highest level on the eastern and south-eastern borders especially after the Russian, American and British troops came to Libya with the aim of shoring up the newly-formed government of national unity.
And hence, General Gaid Salah ordered the securing by the ANP troops of all sensitive locations so as to head off a repeat of the 2013 Tiguentourine ill-fated terrorist attack .
Moreover, major reinforcements in men and equipment are already operational in these sensitive areas to avert any “Daesh” terrorists’ infiltration into the national territory in case NATO- led forces decide to launch military strikes against fiefdoms of these nefarious terrorist groups.
