Cultural Campaign: 10.000 books donated for Southern Libraries

Over 10.000 books collected in the campaign for Southern libraries by the Foundation for Health Promotion and Development of Research “Foram” in partnership with Algeria Post and the National Library, the organizers told APS here on Tuesday.

Many national and public institutions donated a large number of books, and other institutions are expected to join this campaign to be launched officially on April 16 simultaneous with the Science Day.

In this context, Foram General Manger, Mr. Mostapha Khiat said; “4.000 books were donated by the National Institution for Arts, the National Foundation for Publication and Advertisement, the Office of University Publication, the Ministry of Mujahedeen (war veterans) and the Ministry of Religious Affairs, as well as a large number of books donated by the National Library”.

These books will be distributed on seven libraries in southern cities including Adrar, Illizi, Ouergla, Gharaia, Bechar, Tindouf and Tamenraset.

“First truck to be launched on April 19 towards El Mania following the campaign’s assessment meeting”, Mr. Khiat added.

The Foundation for Health Promotion and Development of Research aims at renewing the content of the seven libraries which benefit with  15 to 30% every year in order to create a permanent link with the readers in southern isolated regions.
