65 customs officers underwent questioning by the investigators so far to shed light on the inns and outs of the attempt to destroy files related to corruption cases, reliable sources close to the inquiry have revealed to Echourok.

  • 40 security agents and the customs officers who were heard by the investigators were on duty at the port the day when some 40 thousand in 200 thousand files were burnt, the same sources added.
  • Among them, there were dossiers in connection with the acquisition of public works equipment, trucks and tractors using false declarations and forgery in addition to the exaggeration of invoices and illegal transfer of some 3 billion Algerian Dinars overseas.
  • The economic department of the port of Oran, western Algeria, has included the names of 15 importers and economic operators in the “black list” for being involved in several cases of embezzlement and forgery according, to the sources.
