Customs’ officers protest over imaginary pay rise
The protest movement initiated by customs’ agents at the level of five branches in Algiers, has frozen 80 % of the activities including Algiers port and the international airport.

The protesters have raised slogans in which they vehemently criticized the compensation system they consider “inappropriate” and dubbed as “propaganda” launched by their administration to pretend wages’ rise for the benefit of its personnel.

They have also called for the enhancement of their socio- professional conditions.

The protests have frozen 80% of the activities of the freight services at Algiers international airport although a minimum service was assured by the personnel in strike.

The Secretary General of the port’s union branch Kamel Ramdani has indicated to the press that the new payroll forwarded to the personnel has outraged them because it didn’t reflect the pay rise announced by their administration.
