Defense Ministry Foils 12 Million Attempts To Hack Its Websites

National Defense Ministry foiled more than 12 million attempts to hack the computers of its the commanders of troops and its Central Directorates in 2016, at a rate of 32.000 attempts every day, by hackers from various countries of the world, in the context of what is known as the “War and E-terrorism”, but brilliant officers show professionalism and foil all these attempts through the continuous enlisting to protect its data banks from any hacking of the websites, in order to preserve the Algerian state secrets.

Echorouk sources said that over 12 million attempts to hack the websites of Algeria armed forces and the central departments of the Defense Ministry, were foiled, including computers of the naval forces, air forces, defense of the territory, the National Gendarmerie and the Republican Guards, and even the of schools the nation’s cubs by hackers from various European, Asian and Arab countries, including the neighboring countries, like Morocco exactly.

“Defense Ministry resorted to competencies with high experience in the field of information technologies, who work 24/24 hours, to run this electronic warfare and prevent the hacking of any website and to identify the country of origin of the hackers, as soon as they tried to break through the ministry’s website”.

“In terms of numbers, the attempts to hack the official website of the Defense Ministry reaches up to 80% a day, while the attempt to hack the e mails reaches up to 50% per day. Any attempt to hack a website can determine the hackers’ location and country from where these attempts are launched, through a “red” warning that warns the E-personnel which is keen on securing and protecting the website and thwart any attempt to penetrate that aims to change or steal confidential information on the location of the commanders of forces or the central directorates base.

“Defense Ministry’s website is protected from any hacking by the “cyber” gangs, and the permanent and continuous development of information technologies is done in the electronic media department to protect the website of the Defense Ministry from any breakthrough”.
