Desert Foxes tame Ivory Coast Elephants and ease through the semi-finals

The Algerian Fennecs have tamed the Ivory Cost Elephants in a breathtaking match and booked their tickets for the semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations trouncing the star-studded side with a dramatic win 3-2.

  •  The desert warriors had to play the extra-time to fulfill the dream of millions of Algerians that took to the streets immediately after the final whistle to express their immense joy after this extraordinary achievement.
  • The start was laborious for the Greens as the Elephants opened the score 4 minutes after the kick off, putting thus the Algerian players into difficult situation. But the resilience of the Fennecs and their extraordinary mental force gave them a fresh impetus and succeeded to score at the 40 minute of the first half by the magnificent Karim Matmour, keeping their chances alive for the rest of the match.
  • The second period was dominated by the Greens and showed and missed several opportunities to score if they were better concentrated, while Ivory Coast squad were overwhelmed and couldn’t practice their usual football. But against all expectations, the Elephants scored another goal at the injury-time through the fresh player Keita.
  • While everybody was waiting for the referee to put an end to the match in favor of Ivory Coast, in a last ditch effort, the Algerian players scored the second goal with a heading from Glasgow Rangers’ Madjid “Magic” Boughuerra putting the Elephants down on their knees.
  • Taking advantage of their renewed confidence, the Greens succeed to score a third goal early in extar-trime when Karim Ziani sent in a fine cross from the left and substitute Hameu Boaaza headed the winner. The Fennecs could have scored other goals at a moment where Ivory Coast players had almost given up and swallowed their pride.
  • Now that the Greens have booked their tickets to the semi-finals, nobody would dare and declare that their qualification to the World Cup was mere accident because they proved to the world and some skeptical that it was long and winding road but the best is yet to come.
  • So One, Two , Three Viva Algérie!!!!
