Djamel Mesbah: “We must win over Atlas Lionsâ€
Algeria International defender and Italian Lecce player Djamel Mesbah said that the Desert Warriors have to win over Morocco Atlas Lions on Sunday at May 19 Stadium in Annaba, East of Algeria, to ensure qualification to the next stage of the CAN 2012.
“Given the current ranking of the group, we have no choice but to win in order to restore confidence and chances to qualify for the CAN 2012”, Mesbah, expected to play as left wing of the defense line, said.
“We are aware of responsibility that lies ahead before the Moroccan team in this North African tough derby. Our start in the playoffs was very negative and we should wake up before it’s too late. We have to satisfy our fans and all players are determined to realize a positive result”, he added.
“I admire the Moroccan team and we need the keep vigilant and caution before the Atlas Lions. Moroccans are going through a good period following recent positive results. The match will be difficult, they will not only defend, they will try to attack surprisingly”, Mesbah warned.
“Compared to the last match before Central Africa, the Algerian players are much better because they enjoy full technical and physical potential and this is important in such confrontations”.
