Djiar to Echorouk: “The Oum-Dourman fans' air-lift operation will not be repeated”
The youth and Sports Minister, El Hachemi Djiar, has said that the Oum-Dourman air-lift operation for the transport of Algerian fans to the city of Benguela in Angola cannot be repeated for various obvious reasons.
-
Mr. El Hachemi Djiar told “Echorouk” in a telephone conversation that the Algerian government would not take the risk of ensuring the air transport of thousands of the Greens’ fans towards Benguela or anywhere else in Angola because such an operation is “impossible” on all aspects, as he put it.

The youth and Sports Minister also denied reports saying that the executive branch tackled yesterday during a government council’s meeting the file pertaining to the massive fans’ air transport to Angola.

He further indicated that he had flown recently to Luanda where he saw for himself the tremendous difficulties of ensuring a repeat of the massive Oum-Dourman air-lift to Angola because the conditions of stay for the Algerian fans there would be “risky and totally inadequate” in terms of accommodation, sanitation and security, he stressed.
