Minister of Finance, Karim Djoudi, has confirmed on Sunday the government’s decision relating to the freeze of assets of Libyan officials ass, including those of Muamar Gaddafi, in compliance with UN Resolutions.

At the sidelines of the presentation of complementary budget law of 2011 to MPs, Mr Djoudi has rejected providing the value of the targeted assets.

He further ruled out the return of consumer credits only when Algeria starts producing cars. The minister specified that this kind of credits should be allocated to help families acquiring local made stuffs rather than imported goods.

Mr Djoudi further added that the current supplementary budget law adopts a referential price of $37 a barrel.

He mentioned that oil tax collection has improved by 20%. “In theory, it seems we are in hard situation, but we would likely manage covering such a budget deficit without resorting to the revenues regulation fund,” the minister said.
