Head of Diabetics’ Association in the province of Algiers Faicel Ouhada denounced “immoral commercial practices” meant to exploit diabetics, in response to reports about an invented medicine against diabetes called “Rahmat Rabbi” or God’s Mercy.

Ouhada said the invented medicine raised an emergency state among patients in all over Algeria due to media coverage.

“Patients think that they can stop using insulin if they take this medicine,” he told a press conference.

On the World Diabetes Day, many specialists and doctors called on patients to stop herbs treatment, describing it as “juggling.”

They believe that diabetes is a chronic disease and can only treated by scientific methods.

The scientific commission chairman at the Association Abdelhafid Habitouche said patients should be aware of side effects if they do not have a healthy education.

He added that Algeria reports 15,000 new cases every year. This reflects efforts made in raising awareness. Earlier, many Algerians were afraid of undergoing check-ups.
