Does Zatch pave the way to keep Alcaraz?

All it seems that the president of the Algerian Football Federation Khireddine Zatchi is not convinced by the opinion of the federal office members’ majority. They want to dismiss Spanish coach Lucas Alcaraz as he failed in leading Algeria to World Cup Russia 2018.

Many indicators show that Alcaraz would stay with the Algerian national team until his contract expires in 2019. He told journalists he would not quit after a match against Nigeria as part of the last round of World Cup qualifiers due to be played in November. 

Alcaraz also said he would continue his mission with Algeria until his contract expires.

The Federation’s Friday release shows that its president Zatchi is attached to the Spanish coach. He said Alcaraz would train local players between October 8th and 11th. 

It seems that Zatchi plans to protect the Spanish coach who was clever in imposing clauses to preserves his interests if the Federation thinks to dismiss him.

A total of 35 local players from the National Championship will attend a training session at Sidi Moussa Centre between October 8th and 11th.
