East-West highway completion works did not exceed b13$ Public Works Minister, Abdelkader Kadi said.

Minister Abdelkader Kadi put an end to inconsistencies of numbers that raised controversy among people since handing over the century project.
“Citizen feels more comfortable currently after traveling over a distance of 1200 km only takes eight hours. On the current October 30, completion of the highway for high plateaus will be realized over a distance of 132 km that links Batna and Khenchla.
Public Works Minister was the guest of the “week show” program on Echorouk TV, and talked about the issue of final cost for the East-West highway project.
“Total cover which the project consumed did not exceed $13b, as the cost of one km reached 1 billion ZDZ. This file should be closed definitively because the sector did not include only the highway, but other large projects, like ports and airports. Countries develop but we remain cowering in a sterile debate on the highway’s cost”.
“Highway’s pricing value is not yet identified. Companies are currently working on the establishment of payment terminals, and will start working with the pricing system by the end of 2015”.
“A project will be presented for government soon about securing roads over five years and bridges over 10 years.”
“Trans-Sahara road will be soon completed, as it left only 200 km for Algeria to reach Mali. Other African countries should adhere to completing the parts that are related to it. National companies should work in Africa and have large chances in this”.
