Ebola virus : emergency in Algeria borders, airports and ports
Algeria took strict prevention measures on its land borders, airports and ports in response to the deadly outbreak of Ebola virus disease in West Africa, Algerian health minister Abdelmalek Boudiaf said on Thursday.
« The virus outbreak could not happen at present. Necessary measures were taken on borders to face any possible case, » the minister told a press conference in Algiers.
« No infection case was reported in Algeria. The health ministry is the only institution which can follow up the situation and inform public opinion about this pandemic, » he added.
Doctor Samia Omrani at the ministry’s prevention department said the measures are applied in accordance to the Health World Organization’s instructions.
