Ebola virus infected deprived from performing pilgrimage
Saudi authorities announced on taking strict measures to prevent the transmission of Ebola virus among the pilgrims, especially for people from the West African countries including Kenya, Nigeria and Congo, and confirmed that Corona virus has been controlled.
Representative of the World Health Organization in Saudi Arabia, Hassane Bachiri, said in media statements that his country’s authoritiesadopted a number of measures with the health authorities in Nigeria, Congo and Kenya, in anticipation to the pilgrimage season, in order to avoid the possibility of the presence of any pilgrim, who is suspected of being infected with “Ebola”, on board of the aircraft which is headingto Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.
“These procedures include the detection of the temperature of pilgrims across five scattered points before boarding the aircraft, in addition to the continued follow-up throughout the minute for pilgrims who are coming from West Africa, during the Hadj, until they left the country. Adelegation from the World Health Organization in three countries namely Kenya, Nigeria and Congo, coordinate with communication officersbetween these countries and the liaison officer in the Saudi Health, as these contacts are done everyday to know the general situation in the three countries and the developments and arrangements for Hadj missions, while correspondences from parties of the World Health Organization arrived to follow the procedures.
It is known, that the pilgrims West Africa will be subject totemperatures at five different points on the level of airports of these countries beforeriding the plane, and the health condition of pilgrims, their eyes and any fatigue or tiredness will be controlled as well, as the pilgrims will fill a form that is prepared by the Saudi Health Ministry to make sure of the absence of Ebola symptoms, or patients who have previously visited the affected areas.
Saudi Health Ministry is expected to held, in the coming days, a meeting with representatives of medical missions for the top ten countries with the pilgrims, to coordinate with the Saudi side in case of any epidemic infections, and to make sure of their ability to deal with their patients properly, and concerning “Corona” virus in Saudi Arabia, representative of the World Health Organization, in Saudi Arabia, reassured the Algerians pilgrims, by saying that nothing leads to worry about, adding that the number of new cases is few, and preparations in the sectors of health, including epidemiological monitoring, laboratory training and infection of hospitals, are progressing well and continuing, in spite of the decline of the number of cases dramatically, and the emergence of epidemics and other special preparations of the Hajj season.
