“Echorouk” and “British Council” initial agreement on English teaching

“Echorouk” signed on Sunday a partnership agreement with the British Council in Algiers providing for the teaching of English to young pupils through the “Little Hrougui Magazine”, in which articles in English will be published for the benefit of young readers who will have the opportunity to acquire the English language in a simplified and easy manner.

This commendable endeavour is designed to attract young readers at an early age and encourage them to do more to learn the niceties of the English language which is steadily being learnt and used by large segments of the Algerian society.

The accord which was concluded on Sunday at the headquarters of the British Council at the upper Algiers district of Hydra in the presence of Director General of the Echorouk Media Group, Mr Ali Fodhil, and the Director of the Council, Mr Martin Daltrey, is aimed at further shoring up the fruitful partnership between the two sides.

Taking the floor on the occasion, Mr Ali Fodhil noted that this agreement would further bolster the rewarding partnership between”Echorouk” and the “British Council”, which has been going on now for 7 years, stressing that this endeavour was also marked at first by various timely English language competitions spearheaded by “Echorouk Al Yaoumi” newspaper and which wound up with the granting of many enticing prizes to the lucky winners.

Mr Ali Fodhil added that these English language learning competitions had witnessed a great success, while stressing the imperious need to further upgrade and consolidate such an enlightening partnership for the benefit of young learners from all walks of life in Algeria through Echorouk’s print and audiovisual media outlets.

For his part, the “British Council” Director, Mr Martin Daltrey, referred to the long-standing partnership with “Echorouk” which he described as most successful, adding that Echorouk’s website had been providing for many years now, readers with daily articles in English in addition to Echorouk TV’s commendable initiative to launch broadcasts on English learning destined to young

students as part of the smooth partnership between the two sides.
