Echorouk reveals details of assassination plot targeting Algerian President

The plot of the attempted assassination of Algerian president Abdelaziz Bouteflika three years ago was hatched a few weeks before his visit of inspection to the province of Batna, eastern Algeria, when the terrorist group calling itself “ death squadron” collected intelligence about the date of the event through the press, reliable sources have revealed.

• On September 5, he got in touch with Z. Walid and asked him to give assistance to the suicide bomber Al Ouhrani but insisted on involving the minor K. Imad on the basis that his two brothers are active members in the terrorist organization. The leader has argued that the presence of the minor would serve as diversion.
