Echorouk sponsors Zidane match in Algeria
Zinedine Zidane will play a match on his visit to Algeria due to be held in late February against Algeria’s African Cup winner squad, said 1998 French squad’s visit organiser.
- “Algeria’s squad who won the African Cup 1990 along with player Nacer Bouiche will launch the tournament due to be held on March 1st,” Kamel Ben Koussa told Echorouk.
- “Two matches will be played on March 1st between France and Algeria. Two Algerian squads of former players will play the second match,” he added.
- “When Zidane met Algeria President Bouteflika in 2006 he promised him to bring the World Cup French winner squad to Algeria. He has kept his promise but we have to talk about Nacer Bouiche’s role in contacting Zidane. He went to Marseille along with an Algerian squad and played a freidnly match against Zidane’s teammates.”
- According to the organiser, a large number of companies will sponsor the tournament. Of them, Echorouk Al Yaoumi newspaper will have the exclusivity of publishing reports and interviews with the French and Algerian international players.
- Stadium tickets will be for free while Sport Experts association of the French squad will offer the sponsoring incomes to Haiti earthquake victims.
- Sinik, actress Isabelle Adjani, scriptwriter Yamina Ben Kiki and hip hop group 113 will attend the ceremony.
