Echorouk’s cartoonist Baki Boukhalfa finishes Germany tour

The cartoonist of Algeria’s newspaper Echorouk Baki Boukhalfa finished his tour in Germany’s capital Berlin where he presented caricature art in the Algerian press.

• The tour was organised by the Goethe-Institute and Yedd Association and sponsored by Echorouk Al Yaoumi newspaper. Boukhalfa exhibited his 30 best cartoons mainly focusing on football. A large number of Algerians living in Germany and people interesting in caricature art visited the exhibition. A number of cultural figures and the cultural attaché of Algeria’s embassy in Germany visited the exhibition as well.
• Boukhalfa dedicated his books untitled ‘One is Bigger than Two’ published in Algeria. All the exhibited copies were sold.
• He visited the Freie Universität Berlin where he met a number of students and made a presentation about press caricature experience in Algeria, the national culture specificities and the caricature art characteristics and the training of Algerian students in this art. He answered the students’ questions about the reality of this art in Algeria. He also paid a visit to Germany’s Parliament.
