Echourok newspaper honors the best baccalaureate laureates

With presence of the Education Ministry’s Secretary General along with the deans of the Algerian universities led by the Professor Tahar Hadjar in addition to sports and cultural personalities, Echourok newspaper has organized a ceremony to honor the 10 best baccalaureate candidates for the year 2010.

• The ceremony took place yesterday at the international Press Center in upper Algiers where the ten female laureates accompanied by their families received their rewards amid joyful atmosphere a day after being received by the Algerian President Abdelaiz Bouteflika.

• The newspaper’s publisher Ali Fodhil took the floor before the audience and made a welcoming speech to his guests before putting the focus on this year’s record success which translates, according to him, the success of the education reform policy “ we feel honored to reward the best laureates of this year’s baccalaureate as we consider it’s our duty to honor minds first instead of the feet”, he said.

• The Secretary General Abu Bakr Al Khaldi has declared” The education minister Abu Bakr Ben Bouzid asked me to replace him in this ceremony, mentioning that the minister would have been here if not the ministerial council, thanking Echourok for this noble initiative saying”  It’s nice from Echourok to give a special importance to the best candidates adding that the ministry will also give a special treatment to them”.

• The dean of Algiers University Tahar Hadjar highlighted the efforts deployed by the Higher Education Ministry in favour of the laureates every year, hinting to the start of the registrations for the coming academic year through the internet.

• For his part, the former director of the National Library Amine Ezzaoui has focussed in his address on the importance of reading inside the libraries, adding that the former laureates were book wormers.

• The star of the Algerian national team Karim Matmour, who was present in his quality as Echourok’s ambassador, has given a short address saying “ I would like to congratulate all the laureates and I’m very happy to take part to this ceremony”.

• The laureates received gifts and certificates from the personalities that took part to the ceremony before having a lunch specially prepared for them.

• The newspaper’s publisher Ali Fodhil considers this ceremony as an additional encouragement for the laureates” Algeria needs achievements based on scientific principles, today’s student are tomorrow’ managers” , he said.

• He seized this opportunity to announce the partnership sealed between the newspaper and the University of “Dely Brahim” as part of trainings for the students at the newspaper’s premises.
• At the end of the ceremony, the laureates surrounded the football star Karim Matmour to take photos and autographs, Kouthar Kerbouaa has declared” Being close to Karim Matmour and taking photos with him is for me the best reward for me”.
